Horses for Lease

Poetic Doll
Photo taken at the Lake St. Louis “A” rated H/J show in July of 2002. She got second place in this class of 60 horses. (Limit Adult Horse- 2’6”) She was also MoHJO 3rd place Regional Horse in Limit Adult and MHSA 4th place Regional Horse in Limit Adult for the year 2002.

Poetic Doll (APHA), a.k.a. Top Hat (AHSA, MoHJO, MHSA), a.k.a. Missy-
13 year old APHA mare that has been shown in H/J and fun shows. She goes Hunter US and over fences, Western Pleasure, does speed events- barrels and poles, endurance riding 12-25 miles, and is an excellent trail horse for anyone of any skill level! She has also been introduced to Natural Horsemanship and responds well considering this is not how she was started early in life. She has been on our farm for 12 years and is for LEASE ONLY.
She is also in our lesson program until she is leased to some lucky rider.

Joe's Spotted Spotlight
Joe’s Spotted Spotlight, a.k.a. Joe- TWH/SSH – 15.1H- 6 year old
His color is unbelievable- a beautiful chocolate brown! GREAT ground manners, great conformation & smooth gaits, best of all he has a GREAT MIND! He has a wonderful & funny disposition. He is a HAM!!!
Loads, clips, bathes, stands for trims. Joe has been on the trails for 2 years on multiple terrains, and rides like a seasoned pro. No spook.
Easy to ride for most horsemen with soft hands & good balance.
This horse has been trained with Natural Horsemanship methods, ready for Upper Level work. He is very responsive to all Natural Horsemanship techniques he is introduced to. He has been added to our lesson program, until he is leased or adopted.

Bud

Bud - a.k.a. “Goldie”– Appaloosa Ranch Horse – 31 years old- 15.2h gelding
Very quiet horse for all occasions. His early years were spent as a team penning horse and roping large cattle. At the age of 12, he was then used as a child’s mount in fun shows and 4-H shows for a variety of events including English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, small jumps, barrels, poles, flags, and trail class. He is also very confident out on the trails. He is considered one of our beginner horses because he is safe for anyone wanting to get to know horses. He is currently used for w/t lessons. He is a pure pleasure to be around! He is for lessons & lease. Sorry, He is not for adoption!

Rock

Step Ahead Rocky - a.k.a. “Rock”- Paso Fino – 21 years old – 14h gelding
This guy has gaits smooth as silk; slow walk, show walk, corto, largo, and a beautiful canter are all in his repertoire. He is very responsive to all cues; he has true “power steering”! He was used in his beginning years as a Paso Fino Pleasure Show Horse. He was then used for fun shows running barrels, poles, and flags. He is also a wonderful, confident, and smooth trail mount. A very good beginner trail horse. He will be used for lessons and/or lease. Rock could also be for adoption to the right home.

Nique

Nique - (NEEK) - 15 yr old Paso Fino Mare. A wonderful mare now back in our lesson program after having her baby filly, Cinco, in May 2007. She has wonderful gaits and is perfect for an intermediate rider. Nigue has been on trails all over the Southeast and is a very proficient “mountain horse” since that was where most of her life was spent. She was shown in her younger years in PFHA Pleasure Classes and will be a good fun show & F.O.S.H. mount. Nique will be in our lesson program & our lease program. Sorry, Nique is not for adoption.

Einstein

Einstein - 19 yr old Miniature Horse (draft body style)
36 inches tall - He is a spunky little guy who really likes his treats!
Einstein was used for driving carts and used for small children (under 70 lbs) as a saddle horse in his early years. At LPF, we use him for saddle lessons for the smaller children and as an introduction for all students in leading and handling horses on the ground. He is less intimidating than a 15 h horse and this makes for learning ground techniques less stressful for some students. Einstein is also our farm mascot! He travels to places (by invitation) and educates kids & adults about the basics of natural horse care. Sorry, Einstein is not for adoption.

Molly

Molly - 23 yr old pony cross 13.2 h
Molly is the sweetest girl. She will help you when you need it and allow you to “figure it out” when you need to do it on your own, without taking advantage of the situation. This makes her a great beginner child mount! She is very safe and reliable.
Molly was used previously as an endurance horse and as a fun show pony. She was “retired” to our farm in hopes of others being able to learn from her many talents while she receives lots of love & carrots (or apples, cookies, etc!) from all that come to the farm. Molly is used for lessons & could be for lease to the right partner.
Sorry, Molly is not for adoption.

B C Adam

B C Adam - a.k.a. “Bleu Pedro” - 5 yr old APHA (breeding stock papers) gelding 15 hh Bay with 2 hind white & large blaze face.
Nice 5 year old Paint Horse. Quick minded and slow legged. He has nice western pleasure gaits that are easy to sit and balance. A little green on arena work, but has MANY miles on the trails. While riding out, he is very quiet in the open or in the dense woods; with many horses or just one other. Pedro is confident and steady enough for advanced-beginners, yet athletic enough for an advanced rider to enjoy him. He has no vices, loads, clips, bathes, and hoof trims are no problem. He has the BEST personality, with qualities only found in a best friend! This fine gelding is in our lesson program & lease program, ready for an advanced beginner student of any age. He could also be for adoption to the right partner!

Scotty

Scotty - 18 yr old Old Style Shetland gelding 12.3 hh
A wonderfully stout little guy that has lots of personality! He was donated to our farm to help teach smaller students how to ride & handle horses. He is a welcome addition to our family that is sure to help our students learn for many years to come. His new job is currently teaching lessons & camps, trail riding, and enjoying his fun time out in the pasture with all the big guys!
Sorry, Scotty is not for sale but could be for monthly lease to the right student.

Choco-Bear

Choco-Bear - 22 yr old QH/Ranch horse gelding 15 hh
This grulla gelding is very sweet & smart. He was a rescue horse more than half- way through recovery before coming to LPF. He was previously a working ranch horse, moving & roping cattle, doing a few fun shows, and was possibly used for high school rodeo by his original family.
He is a steady mount in the arena as well as on the trails. He still has a lot of go, so an intermediate or advanced rider would suit him best.
He has been on a natural Hoof Trim program since 11-28-2007, Equine Dental Balancing 4-4-08, an a Chiropractic check up pending April 08.
Once Choco has a clean bill of physical health, he will then be ready for our lease program or to be a part of a new family.
$1500
